Job Description

Company Overview

We are partnering with a fast-evolving technology integrator currently undergoing an exciting period of transformation. As part of a broader strategic partnership and eventual merger, the organization is bringing together teams from complementary industries—including home automation, security, and building management systems—to create a streamlined, innovative service offering. Backed by strong leadership with decades of finance and operational experience, this is a rare opportunity to join a company where the culture is still being shaped and every employee has the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.

Why Join Us?

This is more than just a bookkeeping job—it's an opportunity to grow alongside a company that's redefining its future. You’ll be part of a collaborative, low-pressure environment where mutual respect, mentorship, and curiosity are core values. If you’re looking to escape rigid corporate hierarchies or the chaos of high-stress workplaces, this team offers a refreshing alternative.

The Stamford office brings a relaxed, ego-free vibe. You'll work side-by-side with approachable leaders who value your input and care deeply about nurturing long-term career growth.

Job Overview

The Bookkeeper will serve a foundational role in maintaining the company’s financial records and supporting the smooth day-to-day operations of the business. This role is ideal for someone early in their career with solid QuickBooks knowledge and a passion for accuracy, organization, and learning. You’ll report directly to a financial leader and work closely with the senior accountant, gaining exposure to both traditional accounting functions and how finances connect to broader business operations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bookkeeping functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and data entry
  • Maintain and organize records in QuickBooks (migrating to QuickBooks Online)
  • Assist with monthly financial reporting including income statements and cash flow summaries
  • Support the reconciliation of bank and credit card statements
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure timely and accurate financial data entry
  • Help track project-based financial data, including progress invoicing and job costing
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency
  • Provide support during QuickBooks + DTools Cloud integration process
  • Stay engaged and curious about the broader business, understanding how financial decisions affect operations

Qualifications

  • 2–7 years of practical bookkeeping experience; project-based industry experience (e.g., construction, integration, AV) is preferred
  • Hands-on QuickBooks experience required (desktop or online; willingness to adapt to cloud-based version)
  • Familiarity with project-related accounting processes (e.g., progress invoicing) is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and adapt to evolving company needs
  • No formal degree required—real-world experience and motivation are highly valued

Benefits

  • PTO and company holidays
  • Health, Dental Insurance
  • Simple IRA
  • Opportunities for professional growth within an expanding organization
  • Supportive leadership and collaborative team culture
  • Training and mentorship in financial analysis and reporting
