About the role
This position will primarily be finding capacity to move our customer’s freight. In this position, you will build and develop carrier relationships and negotiate competitive carrier rates, while maintaining company revenue and margin goals. Our Carrier Sales Representative will also in track booked shipments, and post new shipments on carrier boards. This position is a full time, 40 hour per week position in Union, KY. Hours may vary between 8:00 am – 10:00 pm, Monday – Friday. Occasional weekend or evening hours may be required and discussed upon hire.

· Find capacity to move our customer’s freight.
· Build and develop carrier relationships and negotiate competitive carrier rates while maintaining Company revenue and margin goals.
· Track and/or coordinate trucks and inventory to ensure on time delivery.
· Perform freight services according to company and government regulations.
· Plan and coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.
· Work with Shippers, Carriers and Dispatchers to manage the schedules.
· Track and report shipment status to customers.
· Resolve freight discrepancies in a timely manner.
· Respond to customer concerns and queries professionally.
· Maintain positive and productive relationship with customers.
· Identify and contact qualified carriers for freight services.
· Provide special discounts and promotions to customers.
· Contact current and potential customers for new business opportunities.
· Maintain strong relationship with multiple carriers.
· Ensure that freight paperwork are completed and approved before transportation.
Candidate Requirements
· Self-motivation, a concentrated work ethic, problem solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
· Excellent phone skills and passion for providing quality service to customers and drivers.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, and ever-changing setting.
· Ability to communicate effectively.
· Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
· Must be proficient in keyboarding and Microsoft Office.
· At least one year of experience in carrier sales.
