Job Description

Salary: $1000 / Week Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for performing duties under the direction of a physician to assist in the examination and treatment of patients. QUALIFICATIONS : Education, Certification, and Experience - High school diploma or equivalent. - EMT or Medical Assistant Certification, i.e., AAMA/CCBMA Certification. - First Aid certified within 30 days of employment. - CPR certified within 30 days of employment. - Experience working successfully with issues of substance abuse, mental health, criminal background, and other potential barriers to economic self-sufficiency. Desired: - Two years of experience in a substance abuse treatment setting. - Course work in related subjects, i.e., co-occurring disorders, Trauma-Informed Care, Motivational Interviewing, HIV, HCV, Harm Reduction, etc. - Bachelor's Degree in related field. Competencies: Trauma-Informed Care : Proficiency in delivering services using Trauma-Informed and Harm Reduction approaches. Medication Management : Expertise in managing client medications, including controlled substances, ensuring secure storage, accurate inventory, and proper documentation. Collaboration : Ability to work closely with Medication Assisted Therapy (MAT), Withdrawal Management, and other Health & Wellness teams to implement treatment plans effectively. Regulatory Compliance : Knowledge of policies and procedures related to medication storage, administration, and destruction, ensuring adherence to all standards. Documentation Skills : Strong ability to maintain and audit medication logs, treatment forms, and medical records in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards. Client Advocacy : Capacity to act as a liaison between clients, staff, and providers, ensuring clear communication and advocacy for client needs. Administrative Proficiency : Skill in managing administrative responsibilities, including creating reports and ensuring accurate documentation for audits. Detail Orientation : Precision in handling medication records, inventories, and documentation to avoid errors.
