Overview:
We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Director of Finance to oversee financial operations, accounting, and business office functions. This role plays a key part in maintaining financial accuracy, supporting budgeting efforts, and providing valuable financial analysis. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure the accuracy of general ledger and financial records.
- Record, classify, and summarize financial transactions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Prepare financial reports on a scheduled basis and collaborate closely with the contracted management company's finance director.
- Reconcile sub-ledgers with the general ledger and resolve discrepancies.
- Develop financial reports for analysis, forecasting, and trend evaluation.
- Oversee accounts payable and ensure timely vendor payments.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction or revenue enhancement, assisting department heads in budget preparation.
- Coordinate year-end financial activities, including Medicare/Medicaid audits and the annual financial audit.
- Prepare investment account analysis schedules and general ledger postings.
- Supervise business office functions, ensuring accurate and timely processing of Medicare Part A, Part B, Medicaid, and Private Pay billing.
- Maintain and coordinate banking relationships.
- Promote a safe work environment and support resident safety initiatives.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field. Healthcare accounting and finance experience is a plus!
- 3-5 years of accounting and finance experience, including general ledger close and financial statement preparation. Experience in long-term care or hospital accounting is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial management systems.
- Strong analytical skills and a passion for continuous improvement.
- A collaborative mindset with a willingness to mentor and develop staff.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Ability to sit at a desk for extended periods.
- Occasionally bend, stretch, or lift up to 20 pounds when accessing files or documentation.
- Work in an office setting with some background noise from office equipment.
Job Details:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year
- Schedule: Monday to Friday (on-site)
- Location: Scranton, PA (must be able to commute or relocate before starting)
